Supporting Maggie's Charity
This year we have decided to support Maggie's charity through the sale of three soft cotton products in coral pink.
Maggie’s provides free practical, social, and psychological support for anyone dealing with cancer and their friends and families. Their founder Maggie Keswick Jencks, who was told her breast cancer had returned, was inspired to create a type of cancer care that would make sure people didn’t “lose the joy of living in the fear of dying”. The first Maggie’s centre opened in Edinburgh in 1996 and they’ve been working alongside the NHS to support anyone living with cancer ever since.
Maggie’s help people take back control when cancer turns life upside down, with free support for anything from treatment side effects, bereavement, nutrition to money worries. Maggie’s centres are buildings within the grounds of NHS cancer hospitals that are beautifully designed to feel more like a home than a hospital, places where people with cancer and their loved ones can come to spend time and find kindness and expert support and advice.
I was inspired by Rebecca’s story here. Her way to live with cancer is knowing her family have somewhere to come.
Life of Riley will give 5% of the final retail price of Kingsize quilted bedspread, Quilted hot water bottle cover and Travel kit with bag, wrap and eye mask (coral pink colourway only) purchased between 01/04/2024 and 31/03/2025 to our charity partner, Maggie’s, (registered charity number SC024414). Donations will be used to help Maggie’s centres across the UK support thousands of people with cancer each year.
